My brother promotes a band online and he asked me how to get some ideas out there so people can read about the band. I told him to start a blog. "What's a blog?"
That's got to be one of the funniest questions I've heard in a long time. Because really, define a blog.
"You write about whatever."
"You mean whatever?"
"Yeah, it doesn't even have to make sense because it's yours."
"Why would I want to write a blog that doesn't make sense?"
"Well, you wouldn't. But, you could."
"So, why would someone read it?"
And that's the thing. People love reading blogs. When they read articles, most of the time there's an agenda. Some political angle. Some sales point. Something.
But, blogs are honest. Even they aren't, people don't read them. Blogs started out as just someone talking about he or she liked. If they endorsed something, it sold. So, some blogs became commercial.
But, the honest blogs are the ones that fly. The honest blogs attract attention. They are the online journals and diaries. They are all about the writer. The emotions. The ups and downs of a person's day. And they are interesting. | Posted by Webmaster 8 months, 1 week ago.
