Step 3: The Website
So far, you should have your affiliate program set up at Netshops Affiliate and you should have picked the theme that you want. So, you are ready to put something together now.
Think about the type of domain name you want. This takes time. You just can't throw a domain name together.
Many are taken. And many don't make sense. The best way to come up with a domain name is to look at keywords in your theme and play around with them until you get one you like.
Let's say you wanted to sell sporting equipment. You have several keywords already. Sports, games, exercise, fitness..etc. You get the idea.
Then, go to the Google Adwords: Keyword Tool and look up your keywords. You'll get two different things from the Keyword Tool.
First, you'll get all the variations of a keyword that you can possibly think of using. For instance, a run on "Sports" will produce such keyword variations as cbs sports, sports games, sport shop, ea sports...etc.
Second, the keyword tool shows you how many relevant searches have been conducted for your keywords as well as advertiser competition.
To keep your domain optimized, play around with your keywords and try to put them in your domain name in some interesting way. "Cash Surfers" is a perfect example. It's interesting and it has our keyword in it.
Go Daddy will actually try to help you with this stage. If you pick a domain that is already taken, they will give you suggestions for similar domain choices. So when you have your domain name, purchase the domain and hosting.
