It's interesting what people will make videos out of these days. But, I've got to say. It made me hungry for chocolate.
Every brown morsel. Every drop of good wholesome chocolate milk. It's making me crazy for chocolate.
Then, the music is so festive. It's like a celebration right on your computer. Before long, you think you're actually celebrating. And what are you celebrating?
The awesomeness of chocolate. You can't deny yourself of the rich flavor melting in your mouth. You get the sensation...of walking through Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory...and dipping your hands into the beautiful river of chocolate - flowing - endlessly toward the ... I can't stand it any longer.
I've got to go...Oh, the link to Mrs. Cavanaughs Home Fashioned Chocolates is right there...Now, I've really got to go!
Get Your Kids Off to a Good Start With Scholastic Phonics Reading Program...
Watching Ellen the other day, I saw a 70 year old first grader by the name of Alferd Williams. His teacher Alesia Hamilton was on the show with him. It was great to see that the man wasn't about to give up on life.
He had been a bus driver for the Board of Education, which doesn't require that you know how to read. When they first gave him his driver's license years ago, it wasn't even an issue. So, he's what they call "Grandfathered In."
Anyway, one day he approached Alesia Hamilton and asked if he could attend her class. Of course, she said yes because you can't turn anyone down. And it was perfect.
He picks up the kids and drops them off at school. Then, he goes to school. Then, he takes the kids home in the afternoon. In the meantime, he is finally getting the education he should have received years ago.
But, it's never too late. He's learning how to read and it was quite apparent that life has become much easier for him now. He used to rely on pictures to get him through life. At the grocery store. At the bank. At the gas station.
Now, he can read and life has opened up new doors for him. Ellen gave him a check for $10,000 and he cried. He had wanted land on a hill to build his house on and now he had the money for the land. Ellen made an announcement that if anyone wanted to help Alferd build his house to get in touch with her and she would make the arrangements.
I would be willing to bet that he has a house in no time. Anyway, my point is that reading is important. If your child is falling behind because he or she can't read, the Scholastic Phonics Reading Program can help.
